Our Clinic is conveniently located for patients from Auckland and surrounding regions.

TMS Auckland is located in the Vermont Street Specialists clinic at 25 Vermont Street in Ponsonby Auckland, where for over five years, we’ve provided TMS therapy in our historic villa clinic—a calming, intimate setting.

Free off-street patient parking is available at the front of the building. There is also street parking and parking across the road behind the church hall.

The Faces Behind Your Care:

Dr. Rob Shieff

Psychiatrist in Auckland since 1998

Rob has extensive experience in the assessment and comprehensive management of severe and complex mental illnesses, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to the needs of each individual.

Since 2019, following a period of careful research and specialised training, Rob has incorporated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) into his clinical practice. Rob remains at the forefront of developments in psychiatric care, combining clinical expertise with a patient-centred approach.

Dr. Ian Goodwin

Psychiatrist

Ian is a consultant psychiatrist with subspecialty training in both consultation-liaison psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), having attained fellowship in 1996. He has been part of the clinical team at TMS Auckland since 2019.

Dorothy Lami

TMS Practitioner

Dorothy joined the TMS Auckland team in 2024. She is a member of the Clinical TMS Society and TMS trained and credentialed by the Black Dog Institute in Sydney, Australia. She holds a degree in Psychology. She has over a decade of professional experience in psychiatric emergency services within the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, USA. She worked extensively with adults presenting with mood, psychosis, and substance use disorders. Her experience spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, resulting in a comprehensive understanding of both acute and ongoing mental health care.
