TMS is approved for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and some symptoms of schizophrenia. There is also rapidly emerging evidence for its use in the treatment of a large number of conditions including migraine, smoking cessation, PTSD, tinnitus, and chronic pain.
People with recent significant physical health issues such as stroke, heart attack, poorly controlled seizures, and certain types of metal implants in the head or neck. Dental fillings are generally okay. Pregnancy is considered on a case-to-case basis.
Yes, TMS can be used concurrently with psychotropic medications.
If you are more comfortable having someone with you during your treatments, they are more than welcome to join you. TMS will have no impact on anybody else who accompanies you in the treatment suite.
Please give 24 hours notice prior to appointment. Cancellation fee may apply if cancelled within less than 24 hours.
Yes, we accept insurance (domestic and international) and ACC. You will need to obtain pre-approval from your insurer or funding provider before treatment. Please note that TMS is not routinely covered by most mainstream private health insurers in New Zealand, although there have been some exceptions.Please let us know if you need any assistance obtaining pre-authorisation.
Parking: Paid on-street parking is available nearby. Please pay using the Auckland Transport (AT) app or the card readers located midway down the block on either side of the street.Typical rates: $1.50 per 30 minutes, $3 per hour, or $4.50 for 1.5 hours.
